Baby's first hiccups

Today, Emily got the hiccups for the first time. The first time I could feel, at least. Just wanted to document it!

Tomorrow is our second shower and tomorrow night, we're going to put the crib together. Hopefully this weekend I'll have time to post some pictures!

It's been an eventful week in baby world! Last Wednesday I went to the doctor for my 24 week appointment (which was actually closer to 25.) Everything was good except that my placenta was a little lower than it's supposed to be. The doctor thinks it will move up as the baby grows, but if it doesn't, it might mean a C-section. Although I'd prefer to do it the natural way, I'm certainly okay with whatever will be safest for me and the baby!

Monday night, Lucas got to feel Emily kick for the first time. She had been kicking away and I noticed that I could feel it on the outside, which I hadn't noticed before. Lucas put his hand on my stomach just in time to feel her kick once more, but then of course, she stopped. It was very exciting for both of us, though. :)

Today at school I was walking in the hall and I guess there was some water or something else slippery on the floor and with this awesome thrown off sense of balance due to baby, I wasn't able to recover. Fortunately, I didn't hit the floor very hard, but I was worried for a bit. I'm sure everything is okay, though. She's been as active tonight as ever!

Tomorrow is my first shower. Since baby is coming at the very end of the summer, my school is having a shower for me before school is out. I'm excited about it! This weekend, I'm hoping to really get started on the nursery. We shall see!

This and That

What a busy couple of weeks it has been! I just finished up the Spring semester for grad school and Lucas also finished a term. Unfortunately for him, he only gets a week off from school. At least I have a one month break!

Little Emily is growing like a weed. She moves alot and she's quite forceful! The best part of the last couple of weeks has been getting to feel her move more and more. Hopefully with all of her activity, she'll be moving for us this week at our ultrasound. My 24 week appointment is this Wednesday and although my doctor doesn't usually do an ultra at that appointment, but she wants to try to confirm the gender again. So, we get to see her again! I'm excited! Let's hope she doesn't turn into a he. :)

Tonight, Lucas and I went to Babies R Us and bought our crib and bedding. I've been planning to have the bedding made, but when I saw this set, I changed my mind. It's not what I thought I wanted, but I love it! It is much more "me" that what I had originally planned on doing. It will be perfect for our Emily. I've picked out most of the other furniture too, but I still have to order it. The only thing I haven't found is a rocker. Thus begins the next search!

I absolutely love how whimsical it is and the colors are perfect, too.

A super cute crib that can be used for a girl or maybe a boy in the future!

We also registered last week at Babies R Us and Target, and I also set up a book registry on Amazon. If you'd like to see the registries, you can click on each store's name to see what we've picked. My first shower is next week! EEK! I can't believe it!
