We had our 37 week doctor's appointment yesterday and it was great! We didn't do an ultrasound this time, but she did measure me and we also got to hear her heartbeat. I'm not dilated yet, but the baby has dropped and she said that I am making progress. Wow!

They had the results of my 24 hour sample that I had to do earlier in the week. The protein number is supposed to be under 300. From what I understand, that is the number where they diagnose with Pre-Eclampsia. Not totally sure all the specifics about that. I think if it's 300 or higher along with elevated BP, then they make they diagnosis. Anyway, my number was about 250, so no diagnosis or anything. The doctor does think that since it is kind of on the high end that there might be "something going on," but nothing yet. My BP was 130/80 yesterday, which is higher than my norm, but not "high" by any means. Hospital admittance would be somewhere in the 140-150/100 range. So obviously, I'm not anywhere near there. They will check me again at my appointment next week and see where we're at. If the BP and protein is diagnosably high, we'll have a baby. If not, we'll keep waiting. Dr. Staud says she thinks Emily will probably be here somewhere in between 38 and 39 weeks. I think her reasoning for this is because I'm going back to work next week and she thinks that is going to move things along. We shall see! This pregnancy has been so healthy and easy that I'm pretty sure we'll make it longer than that unless some level decides to spike. She told me just to watch for swelling in the face, headaches, and overall just feeling really bad. So far, I've had none of these things, and I really don't expect to. I think my doctor just likes to err on the side of caution, which I really appreciate. She has been a wonderful OB/GYN and I absolutely recommend her for anyone living in the DFW airport area.

Before long, we will have a baby! We'll keep you posted!

  1. My BP was great when I was pregnant with Aubree until like the last month. It started getting like yours, a high normal, and sorta stayed around there. I will pray it stays just where it is and you have an easy time in labor and delivery :-)
